God planted the seeds, our eyes and hearts were open and we're taking that leap of faith into unknown territory where only God Himself can be revealed. Proverbs 24:12 tell us: "Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know and holds us responsible." So with much joy, we welcome you on our journey to bring home a baby girl from Ethiopia!

Our Adoption Timeline

  • 6/3/11: Return home from Ethiopia...whew, what a trip!
  • 5/27/11: Meet Tsehay for the 1st time....she is 8 months old today.
  • 5/25/11: Leave for Ethiopia
  • 4/25/11: We got a court date! June 1st, 2011! 
  • 3/23/11: All our paperwork was submitted to court! Waiting for a court date.
  • 3/18/11: REFERRAL for our beautiful baby girl!
  • 1/12/11: STILL #2 on the infant girl waiting list!
  • 9/7/10: #2 on infant girl waiting list!
  • 7/7/10: Dossier submitted to Ethiopia
  • 7/2/10: Dossier authenticated and received at AAI-ready for submission-SO QUICK!
  • 6/28/10: Overnighted our sealed dossier to The Assistant Stork
  • 6/25/10: Received I171H-Approval from USCIS to adopt!
  • 6/11/10: Fingerprinted!
  • 5/24/10: Fingerprinting Appt Scheduled for 6/15/10
  • 5/20/10: Letter from USCIS-paperwork received
  • 5/11/10: Mailed all paperwork to USCIS
  • 5/10/10: Transracial Training Session @ AAI
  • 4/15/10: Officially finished all training items
  • 4/14/10: 3rd & Final Homestudy Meeting
  • 4/5/10: 2nd Homestudy Meeting
  • 3/18/10: 1st Homestudy Meeting
  • 3/2/10: Mailed Formal Application to AAI and intial deposit
  • 2/25/10: Met with Bethany Christian Services
  • 2/26/10: Informational Meeting at AAI
